Daegu City Reports 17 New COVID-19 Cases for Two Consecutive Days... Total of 14 Linked to Gyeongsan Sauna

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] In Daegu, sporadic spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) continues, including contacts of sauna-related individuals and confirmed cases from the Seoul metropolitan area, resulting in 17 new confirmed cases added for the second consecutive day.
According to Daegu City on the 25th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Daegu increased by 17 from the previous day to 8,843 (including 164 imported cases). By district of residence, there were 5 in Suseong-gu, 4 each in Dong-gu and Dalseo-gu, 3 in Buk-gu, and 1 in Nam-gu.
Among the additional confirmed cases, 7 were identified as contacts of confirmed cases from Gyeonggi-do. These individuals had contact with confirmed cases in Anyang and Hwaseong areas.
Two cases were secondary infections related to a sauna in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk. Following visits to a sauna located near the Daegu border, confirmed cases have continued to emerge, bringing the cumulative number in Daegu alone to 14 (including 8 direct users).
Additionally, related to the D Sauna in Dong-gu where 2 confirmed cases were reported the previous day, 2 more individuals tested positive. One citizen whose movement overlapped with a social gathering in Dalseo-gu also tested positive. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases related to the Dalseo-gu social gathering to 7.

One more confirmed case was added related to a U.S. entrant who violated self-quarantine guidelines by visiting entertainment establishments immediately after arrival, causing a cluster infection. One confirmed case with an unknown infection route and two cohabiting family members of this case also tested positive. In addition, one contact of a confirmed case from Jinju, Gyeongnam, tested positive.
