Hoban Group Donates 500 Million KRW for Catholic University Omnibus Park Construction
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Hoban Group has donated 500 million KRW to Catholic University for the construction of the ‘Omnibus Park’.
On the 25th, Hoban Group held a fund transfer ceremony for the construction of Omnibus Park at the Seongui Campus of Catholic University in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. Attending the ceremony were Kim Sang-yeol, Chairman of the Hoban Scholarship Foundation; Woo Hyun-hee, Chairman of the Taeseong Cultural Foundation; Kim Seon-gyu, Chairman of Hoban Group; Moon Jeong-il, Vice President for Medical Affairs and Director of the Medical Center at Catholic University; Lee Jae-yeol, Director of the Seongui Campus Office at Catholic University; and Kim Se-ung, Secretary General of the Seongui Campus Support Office at Catholic University.
The 500 million KRW donated by Hoban Group (300 million KRW from Hoban Construction and 200 million KRW from Hoban Industry) will be used for the construction of Omnibus Park. Omnibus Park is a medical convergence space being promoted by the Seongui Campus (College of Medicine and College of Nursing) of Catholic University to expand educational and research infrastructure. Omnibus Park is scheduled to be completed early next year.
Moon Jeong-il, Vice President for Medical Affairs and Director of the Medical Center at Catholic University, said, “We deeply appreciate Hoban Group for greatly supporting our university’s pursuit of nurturing future medical talents and new medical research aimed at disease eradication. Building on this foundation, we will complete Omnibus Park, a medical convergence space, and do our best to transform our university into a global medical complex leading world health care.”
Kim Sang-yeol, Chairman of the Hoban Scholarship Foundation, said, “Despite the COVID-19 crisis, Hoban Group has fulfilled its social responsibilities through various social contribution activities. We hope this will help medical students’ education, research activities, and the development of Catholic University.”

Meanwhile, Hoban Group, including Hoban Construction, has continuously supported talent development and academic research by donating 500 million KRW for improving the research environment at Seoul National University College of Medicine, 500 million KRW to Yonsei University College of Medicine Development Fund, and 500 million KRW for the construction of the Digital Library at Chonnam National University. Additionally, the Hoban Scholarship Foundation has provided a total of 14.3 billion KRW in scholarships to over 8,300 students over 22 years.
