The resolution emphasized, “The ROK-U.S. alliance is essential for peace and prosperity in Northeast Asia and is critical for closely coordinating to meet the challenges posed by North Korea,” and “It reaffirms bipartisan support for a fair and reciprocal burden-sharing mechanism, including fair and substantial additional contributions from allied countries, and acknowledges the defense cost-sharing agreement reached between the Biden administration and Korea and Japan.”
