President Biden to Unveil Infrastructure Bill in Pittsburgh
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to unveil a multi-trillion-dollar infrastructure package bill next week in Pittsburgh.
According to major foreign media on the 24th (local time), the White House announced that President Biden is scheduled to visit Pittsburgh on the 31st.
Pittsburgh is where President Biden began his 2019 presidential campaign. It is also a city with a long history of labor movements and is home to the headquarters of the United Steelworkers union.
It appears that President Biden chose Pittsburgh to demonstrate his commitment to policies for workers. He has shown a pro-labor stance, including expressing support for Amazon employees' efforts to form a labor union.
President Biden's infrastructure bill is the second large-scale stimulus package following the $1.9 trillion stimulus law signed on the 12th. Through the infrastructure bill, President Biden plans to focus on addressing climate change and resolving economic disparities.
The budget for President Biden's infrastructure bill is expected to be up to $3 trillion, with some estimates reaching $4 trillion.
