Gwangju Office of Education Conducts Preliminary Training on Prevention of Information Dysfunction for Instructors
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 24th that it conducted a 'Pre-training for the Visiting School Informatization Dysfunction Prevention Education Instructor Group' for 91 instructors at the Gwangju Education Research and Information Center auditorium on the 23rd.
This pre-training was planned to provide practical assistance in strengthening the expertise of the visiting school instructor group.
This year, due to the combination of remote and in-person classes caused by COVID-19, students' use of smart devices and exposure to media increased, raising social interest in healthy smart device usage habits more than ever before.
Based on an understanding of media overdependence among youth, the instructor group had a valuable time sharing appropriate intervention methods and informatization dysfunction prevention education materials developed for each school level through the pre-training.
The pre-training began with a lecture by Cha Eun-seon, director of the Gwangju Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, on the topic of 'Understanding and Intervention for Media Overdependent Youth.'
This was followed by guidance on the use of elementary school materials by Maeng Jun-oh, a teacher at Songwoo Elementary School, and guidance on the use of middle school materials by Jeong Chang-hong, a teacher at Gwangju Middle School.
At the end of the pre-training, a Q&A session was held on effective ways to support schools in a substantial manner.
One instructor who participated in the training said, “Through the training, I was able to better understand media overdependent students by school level,” and evaluated, “This training was a meaningful opportunity to learn effective methods for informatization dysfunction prevention education.”
