[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Prince Harry, who declared financial independence from the British royal family, is joining a Silicon Valley startup in the United States as an executive.
According to CNBC on the 23rd (local time), Prince Harry is set to take an executive position at 'BetterUp,' a startup specializing in coaching and mental health. His role will be Chief Impact Officer, responsible for deciding sales strategies for the company's products and overseeing social contribution activities. He is also expected to play a role in raising public awareness about the importance of mental health.
However, the details of Prince Harry's compensation have not been disclosed.
Prince Harry stated, "I want to make an impact on people's lives," adding, "Proactive coaching offers infinite possibilities for personal growth, awareness, and a better life."
Earlier, after declaring independence from the British royal family in January last year, Prince Harry has not received any financial support in exchange for royal duties.
Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex settled in the United States and signed contracts with the online streaming service (OTT) Netflix to produce documentaries, films, shows, and children's programs. They also signed a podcast broadcasting contract with the American music streaming service Spotify.
