Homeplus Streams Yoon Do-hyun's 'National Hope SONG' in Stores Nationwide
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Homeplus announced on the 24th that the No. 1 winning song of the ‘Hope SONG Campaign,’ planned and conducted together with SBS Medianet, has been re-recorded as the ‘National Hope SONG’ under the guidance of hope mentors singer Yoon Do-hyun and producer Yoo Jae-hwan, and will be played at Homeplus stores nationwide.
The Hope SONG Campaign is a national music contest that solicited songs composed with the hope code ‘C-E-F-G,’ meaning ‘Covid-19 End, Fighting Global.’ It was planned to provide a platform for young musicians who lost opportunities due to concert cancellations amid the COVID-19 crisis to promote their songs and to revitalize the stagnant offline retail sector.
The No. 1 winning song ‘Go Out,’ submitted by Kim Hyun-ah and Gye Ji-hyung, was selected from a total of 1,112 entries through a first round of judging by expert judges and SBS Medianet music PDs, combined with scores from hope mentors and public voting. The final No. 1 track was arranged by hope mentor Yoo Jae-hwan and newly recorded by Yoon Do-hyun, completing the national hope song version of Go Out. The national hope song ‘Go Out’ sung by Yoon Do-hyun will be played at Homeplus stores nationwide starting on the 26th and is scheduled to be released as a digital single album in mid-next month.
Yoon Do-hyun said, “I believe the power of music is needed to comfort the hearts of the people who are struggling as COVID-19 prolongs,” adding, “Because of the sincerity that the song itself, National Hope Song Go Out, conveys, I was deeply moved while singing it, and I hope Homeplus customers will also find much hope while listening to this song.”
Yoo Jae-hwan stated, “The No. 1 song Go Out is a very pop-style song that many people of all ages can enjoy. In fact, more than half of the applicants submitted songs with a parade or carnival feel, so I arranged it to maximize that genre’s vibe.”
