Seoul City Offers Up to 70% Discount on Social Economy Enterprise Products on Naver and 11st
Support for Diversifying Sales Channels of Social Economy Enterprises Affected by COVID-19... Online Special Exhibition Until Mid-April
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 24th that it will hold a special online exhibition using online channels until the 16th of next month to diversify the sales channels of social economy enterprises, which have been contracted due to COVID-19, and to adapt to changes in consumer shopping trends.
Seoul will showcase 500 products from 50 social economy enterprises within Seoul through live commerce (Naver), crowdfunding (Tumblbug, Wadiz), open markets (11st), and smart stores (Naver). These products will be sold to consumers at discounts of up to 70%. The live commerce (Naver) runs until the 26th, the smart store and open market until April 11th, and crowdfunding until the 16th.
The products for sale include eco-friendly pet snacks, fair trade dried fruits, upcycled products, meal kits, sustainable clothing, hospital companion services, herbal tea subscriptions, and regular delivery of companion plants, among others.
The 50 social economy enterprises and small business owners participating in this online sales exhibition are those who took part in the Seoul Social Economy Support Center’s online distribution channel capacity-building project. The center provides continuous consulting as well as supports logistics-related processes such as product storage, packaging, and delivery for the special exhibition. The schedule for the online sales exhibition, which runs until mid-April, can be found under the ‘Seoul Social Economy Online Distribution Channel Support Project.’
An offline special exhibition where citizens can see and purchase social economy products directly, called the ‘Thank You Sympathy Free Market,’ will also be held. From the 25th until the 7th of next month, this special exhibition will take place at the outdoor special sales area on the first floor of Changdong Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, featuring about 20 Seoul social economy enterprises showcasing various products such as daily necessities and processed foods. Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
