[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 23rd that it has been finally selected for the 2021 Early Childhood Culture and Arts Education Support Project hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Gwangju Metropolitan City, and organized by the Gwangju Culture and Arts Education Support Center.
The selected 2021 Early Childhood Culture and Arts Education Support Project, the ‘Doremi Chorokbyeol’ program, is a project that selects cultural facilities in the region to develop and distribute culture and arts education programs for young children, receiving a project fund of 50 million KRW.
In particular, this achievement is significant as it was accomplished through cooperation between the Dong-gu Miro Center and the governance group BRS Space (CEO Moon Sook-hyun), and plans to operate an integrated arts program focused on music to develop young children’s creativity with the theme of climate and environment in the future.
The selected ‘Doremi Chorokbyeol’ program is an environmental and arts education program for children aged 3 to 5, designed to help young children easily learn about the difficult topics of climate and environment through age-appropriate art play such as songs, musical instruments, and physical activities.
The program is scheduled to run until the end of the year and consists of a total of four sessions. The first session will be conducted by visiting educational institutions directly, and the remaining three sessions will use the facilities within the Miro Center to allow children to freely expand their imagination in a unique space.
This project will be operated with the cooperation of the Dong-gu Childcare Comprehensive Support Center, targeting 20 early childhood education institutions in the district, with four sessions per institution, totaling 80 sessions.
