Markle Sniper, Famous UK Host, "Can't Trust Any Markle Interview" Responds Again
Piers Morgan Says He Can't Trust Markle-Winfrey Interview
Markle's Claim of 'Secret Marriage' Also a Lie
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] A famous British TV program host, who faced backlash after doubting the interview of Meghan Markle (39), the wife of Prince Harry (36) of the UK, has once again refuted Markle's claims.
Markle claimed that she had a "secret wedding" three days before the official marriage, but this was denied as a "lie."
On the 22nd (local time), according to the British tabloid The Sun, famous British program host Piers Morgan shared a Daily Mail article link citing the official marriage certificate of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, posting, "Should we still believe her?"
Earlier, on the 8th, Markle detailed various behind-the-scenes stories about her marriage to Prince Harry during an interview with Oprah Winfrey broadcast on the US CBS network.
In particular, she caused a stir by claiming that when her son Archie was born in 2019, the royal family was concerned about his darker skin tone and did not want him to be a prince.
Additionally, in this interview, Markle claimed that three days before the official wedding held on May 19, 2018, at Windsor Castle watched by the world, they had a secret wedding at Nottingham Cottage within Kensington Palace in London.
Markle stated that she took marriage vows before Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, at that time.
Markle said, "We told Archbishop Welby, 'We want our own union,'" adding, "We got married three days before the official wedding without anyone knowing."
However, The Sun reported that the marriage certificate registered at the registry office confirms that Prince Harry and Markle officially married at Windsor Castle on May 19.
A registry official said, "Sorry, but Meghan clearly seems confused or misinformed," adding, "They did not marry three days before the official wedding in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury."
The official speculated that perhaps the couple exchanged handwritten vows or rehearsed a simple wedding ceremony before the Archbishop, which Markle might have mistaken for an actual wedding.
Based on this, Morgan emphasized that Markle lied in the interview and stated that she can no longer be trusted.
Morgan, a famous TV news program host and broadcaster, has maintained this stance since the interview of Prince Harry and Markle was released.
The day after the interview, Morgan criticized on ITV's morning news program "Good Morning Britain," which he hosts, saying, "I don't believe a word Markle says."
Following Morgan's critical remarks, a controversy erupted with as many as 41,000 people filing complaints to the UK broadcasting and telecommunications regulator Ofcom, and eventually, Morgan left "Good Morning Britain" after the broadcast on the morning of the 9th.
Even afterward, through his Twitter and other platforms, Morgan stated, "On Monday (the 8th), I said I did not believe Meghan Markle's Oprah Winfrey interview," adding, "After reflecting on my opinion over time, I still cannot believe Markle's interview."
