Earlier, the Seoul Administrative Court ruled on the 26th of last month to cancel the dismissal of LX Corporation President Choi Chang-hak, who had filed a lawsuit against his dismissal.
Regarding this, the Ministry of Land explained, "This does not mean that there was no reason for dismissal, but rather that the dismissal procedure was flawed due to insufficient prior notice and opportunity to submit opinions as required by the Administrative Procedures Act."
It added, "On the 12th, the government appealed the first-instance court ruling," and emphasized, "We will ensure thorough management and supervision so that there is no disruption to LX Corporation’s work in accordance with relevant laws and regulations."
President Choi, who took office in July 2018, was dismissed in April last year after being investigated by the Blue House Public Officials Inspection Team over allegations of power abuse against subordinates.
Immediately after his dismissal, President Choi filed a lawsuit, and the Administrative Division 1 of the Seoul Administrative Court (Chief Judge An Jong-hwa) ruled in favor of former President Choi on the 26th of last month. The court judged, "Although the dismissal infringes on status-related interests, it is illegal because prior notice or opportunity to submit opinions under the Administrative Procedures Act was not given, and the grounds and reasons for the dismissal were not sufficiently presented."
