Lee In-young "Sympathy for Resuming Civilian-Level Humanitarian Cooperation with North Korea"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Lee In-young, Minister of Unification, stated, "I agree on the necessity to resume humanitarian cooperation support between South and North Korea at the civilian level."
On the morning of the 22nd, Minister Lee met with Lee Jong-geol, Representative Standing Chairman of the National Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation (Minhwahyeop) at the Minister's Office in the Government Seoul Office Building, and said, "The government also fundamentally agrees with the hope expressed to resume humanitarian cooperation support at the civilian level and will consider such a direction."
He added that there are still matters to consider, such as North Korea's COVID-19 situation and the form of external border opening.
