On the 22nd, Kwon appeared on CBS Radio’s "Kim Hyun-jung’s News Show" and said, "The unity negotiations faced many difficulties due to Chairman Kim’s stubbornness."
Kwon acknowledged, "There were situations where words that could hurt feelings were actually exchanged," but added, "In fact, I don’t hold onto those wounds long enough for them to be deeply imprinted in my memory."
She continued, "I see those remarks simply as the unique language habit of the person (Kim Jong-in) who made them," but noted, "However, behind such exchanges lies arrogance that does not acknowledge diversity and differences, and I felt that this is a task we need to address."
She further stated, "Regarding this task, after the opposition’s unified candidate is selected, we must solve it during the campaign period to truly show the citizens of Seoul a changed image."
Regarding remarks that could hurt feelings, she said, "Comments that might be seen as emotional during the election process do not remain long-lasting among candidates or lawmakers belonging to each party," but added, "I understand there is also an internal demand for change to resolve these issues. I think we should recognize it as a task we must solve together."
Additionally, Floor Leader Kwon viewed former Democratic Party leader Lee Hae-chan’s statement that "the Democratic Party seems to have almost won" as "a strategy to give up expansion and focus on securing the organization and core supporters," describing it as "a strategy taken out of necessity in a difficult situation."
