Daegu City Boosts 'Post-Corona Atmosphere'... Recruiting Stall Operators for Seomun and Chilseong Night Markets
43 People Recruited for Seomun Night Market, 40 for Chilseong Night Market... Nation's First Smart Order Contactless Ordering Service
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City announced on the 21st that it is recruiting 43 and 40 night market stall operators for Seomun Market and Chilseong Market, respectively, in collaboration with the Traditional Market Promotion Foundation.
Daegu City explained that the aim is to revive the atmosphere of Seomun Night Market, a representative local tourist attraction, and Chilseong Night Market, the center of Starlight Tourism along the Sincheon Riverside, to welcome citizens and tourists exhausted from COVID-19.
The eligibility for night market stall operators is between 18 and 60 years old, with no regional restrictions. The recruitment fields include unique fusion and creative cuisine suitable for night markets, as well as local specialty food products representing the region. Those selected as night market sellers will also receive support benefits such as partial coverage of electricity and other management fees.
Daegu City plans to promote a shared kitchen business utilizing a communal cooking area at the night market and, for the first time nationwide, implement a smart order non-face-to-face ordering service at the night market to allow customers to order and pay without lining up in front of the stalls.
The application deadline for stall operators is April 17. Detailed information can be found on the Daegu City or Daegu Traditional Market Promotion Foundation websites.
