Seoul City Calls for Candidates for the '2021 Seoul Metropolitan Environmental Awards'
Five Fields Including 'Green Technology? Energy Saving? Environmental Conservation? Resource Circulation? Urban Greening', 21 Awardees Recognized
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government is recruiting candidates for the '2021 Seoul Metropolitan Government Environmental Award,' which is given to citizens, organizations, and companies that have contributed to creating an 'eco-friendly city, Seoul' through the development of green technology, energy saving, and environmental protection activities.
According to Seoul on the 21st, the Seoul Metropolitan Government Environmental Award, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, covers five fields: green technology, energy saving, environmental conservation, resource circulation, and urban greening. A total of 21 recipients (individuals and organizations) will be selected and awarded, including 1 Grand Prize winner, 5 Excellence Award winners, and 15 Merit Award winners.
Nominees must be citizens, organizations, or companies that have actively worked on green technology development, energy saving, environmental conservation, waste reduction and recycling, or urban greening within the past three years. Candidates must have resided in Seoul or have a workplace (business location) in Seoul for at least three years as of the announcement date.
Those eligible to recommend candidates include Seoul city and its affiliated institutions, autonomous districts, national agencies, and non-profit corporations and organizations. If individuals or unregistered organizations recommend candidates, they must obtain signatures from at least 10 Seoul citizens.
The recommendation and application forms can be downloaded from the announcement section on the Seoul city website. Applications must be submitted in person or by mail to Seoul by April 30. The final selection will be announced in June after a review process.
