Gangseo Innovation Education District Contest Promotion... 150 Million Won Support for Parent Clubs and More
Recruitment in 4 Areas Including Parent Club Support and Village School Network Project... 60 Projects Including Parent Clubs to Receive 150 Million KRW Funding
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is promoting the ‘Gangseo Innovation Education District Contest Project’ to create a happy educational environment for children and adolescents.
The purpose is to develop various educational programs that allow youth to realize their dreams and to support the continuous growth of the village education community.
Any resident group (gathering) that can provide vivid education through experiences, practice, and exploration in various fields can participate. However, this year, to ensure the project can proceed without interruption despite the COVID-19 situation, applications must be for projects that can be conducted in both face-to-face and non-face-to-face formats.
The contest categories include ▲Parent Club Support Project ▲Visiting Creative Experience School ▲Gangseo Village School Network Project ▲Challenge Career Exploration Team, totaling four categories.
The ‘Parent Club Support Project’ recruits parent talent donation clubs linked to the school curriculum or autonomous clubs where parents and children participate together. Clubs in various fields such as career, human rights, reading, science, eco-friendliness, and support for marginalized groups are eligible to apply.
Clubs composed of five or more parents of Gangseo-gu elementary, middle, or high school students can apply, and 30 clubs will each receive 1 million KRW.
The ‘Visiting Creative Experience School’ targets resident groups that provide experience programs utilizing village resources. However, only groups linked to classes in local schools in advance can apply for this project.
Applicants must be resident groups related to village education for children and adolescents, and 20 projects will each receive 2 million KRW.
The ‘Village School Network Project’ supports various village school programs operated by the village education community, including culture, sports, play, and character education.
This project aims to strengthen the village’s educational capacity and form a sustainable village education community by conducting the project over several years to complete the village school.
Communities formed by three or more resident groups, institutions, or schools related to village education for children and adolescents can apply, and 10 projects will be supported with amounts ranging from 3 million KRW to a maximum of 10 million KRW each.
The ‘Challenge Career Exploration Team’ recruits new career programs targeting 2nd and 3rd-year middle school students who are at an important stage of career and job exploration. Instead of uniform career experiences, it discovers and supports programs that allow students to freely explore careers and cultivate future planning skills on their own.
Applicants must be communities formed by resident groups, institutions, or schools related to career projects for children and adolescents, and one project will receive 20 million KRW.
Groups wishing to apply should submit the application form via email to the person in charge from the 22nd to the 26th. The announcement and application forms can be found on the ‘Gangseo-gu Office website - News Plaza - Notices/Announcements’.
A district official said, “We aim to build a healthy village education community that firmly supports children’s dreams,” and added, “We ask for much interest and active participation in this contest so that the Innovation Education District project can be promoted more solidly and abundantly.”
