Jeonnam Welfare Foundation Actively Conducts Research on 'Advancement of Care Services'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Welfare Foundation (CEO Shin Hyunsook) is actively conducting research to "advance care services" ahead of its expansion and reorganization into the Jeonnam Social Service Institute.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 18th, Social Service Institutes are being sequentially established at the metropolitan local government level nationwide to directly and indirectly support various care services, including comprehensive home care centers, public daycare centers, and nursing homes, aiming to improve the quality and stable provision of social services.
Jeonnam plans to open the Jeonnam Social Service Institute in June by expanding and reorganizing the Jeonnam Welfare Foundation.
Ahead of the full-scale opening, the foundation conducted the "Monitoring and Evaluation Study of the Senior Community Integrated Care Pilot Project" together with Suncheon City and independently carried out the "Study on the Operation Plan of the Jeonnam Social Service Institute Comprehensive Home Care Center" to advance care services.
In the Monitoring and Evaluation Study of the Senior Community Integrated Care Pilot Project, satisfaction was surveyed among beneficiaries of the community integrated care project, which is uniquely promoted by Suncheon City in Jeonnam.
93.3% of the survey respondents answered that their daily lives had improved, and the satisfaction score for 14 services was 88.7 out of 100, demonstrating the importance of community integrated care services for seniors.
However, the survey also revealed some dissatisfaction regarding the quantity of services and the hours of provision, providing a basis for future project advancement.
The Study on the Operation Plan of the Comprehensive Home Care Center sought ways for the initial settlement and stable operation of the comprehensive home care center, a major project of the Social Service Institute.
Through status analysis, case studies, and interviews, the current status of home care service recipients in Jeonnam was examined, and a specialization strategy was prepared based on comparative analysis with other cities and provinces.
As a result, the following measures were proposed: ▲ linkage with community integrated care projects ▲ priority installation in agricultural, fishing villages, and island areas ▲ avoidance of competitive dynamics with private facilities and an approach to preserve blind spots ▲ prioritizing the establishment of an appropriate hourly wage system for service providers ▲ prioritizing pilot projects in hub areas followed by effectiveness assessment.
Based on these research results, the foundation plans to provide seamless care services to residents and effective support, education, and consulting to private social service facilities after the Social Service Institute opens.
