CJ Donors Camp Dream Growth Academy, Notable Support for Vulnerable Youth Independence
Recruitment of Trainees for Cooking, Food Service, and Production Specialist Courses in the First Half of the Year Underway
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] CJ Nanum Foundation's social contribution program, 'CJ Donors Camp Dream Growth Academy,' is gaining attention as a project that helps young people achieve independence.
Started in 2017, the 'CJ Donors Camp Dream Growth Academy' selects vulnerable youth and provides systematic education utilizing CJ Group's business infrastructure, linking them to employment at affiliates such as CJ Freshway and CJ Foodville as part of its social contribution efforts.
In line with the purpose of a job-linked social contribution project, eligibility is given to youth aged 18 to 24 who are former wards of the state, from households with middle income or below (based on the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 2018 standard of 4-person household monthly income of 4.52 million KRW), or those who have obtained a high school equivalency diploma through the GED.
The curriculum is divided into three fields: cooking (group meal preparation), food service (golf course and concession), and production specialist (bakery production),
and among the graduates of each field, those whose on-site training evaluation meets the hiring criteria can be linked to employment at CJ affiliates.
Twice a year, in the first and second half, a 'training and hiring' employment linkage program is operated. For the first half of this year, recruitment for the cooking and production specialist fields among the three has already been completed. For the food service field (golf course and concession course), up to 20 people will be recruited by the 21st.
