KT Launches Cloud-Based 'Hakwonchingu Video VOD Service' with Segyero System
No Separate Infrastructure Needed for VOD Management, Enabling Rapid Online Education Delivery
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT, which supports non-face-to-face services in school education through KT Edu, is providing stable online education based on the cloud in academy education as well.
On the 18th, KT announced that it will provide the KT cloud-based video education platform ‘Hakwonchingu Video VOD Service’ in collaboration with the academy management solution company Segyero System.
The Hakwonchingu Video Video On Demand (VOD) service offers integrated cloud-based storage and management of educational video content, playback of content for learners, and analysis of learning outcomes. At 3,100 academies using Segyero System’s academy management solution (ACA2000), there is no need to build a separate system for online education, so non-face-to-face education is expected to rapidly spread in the academy sector.
This service allows easy registration of class materials through KT Cloud and delivers class videos smoothly and vividly to students. It also enables checking online learning progress, such as viewing video watching status by class and by student. To this end, KT has built a content delivery network (CDN) with strengths in network and storage flexibility and scalability.
In October last year, KT and Segyero System signed a business cooperation MOU for ‘Digital Transformation (DX) of Academy Education.’ Since then, the two companies have been cooperating to develop an integrated education system combining a video education platform based on cloud and network infrastructure with an academy management solution. The Hakwonchingu Video VOD service plans to provide real-time online education following VOD to students in the first half of this year.
