North Korea Confirms Attempt to Contact US, Says "No Need to Respond to Deception" (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] North Korea confirmed on the 18th that the United States has attempted to contact it several times.
According to major foreign media, North Korea stated through the Korean Central News Agency on the same day that the U.S. tried to make contact via email and phone messages. North Korea added that it does not consider it necessary to respond to the U.S.'s "delaying-time trick" and "cheap deception."
North Korea claimed that the U.S. continues to threaten with military exercises and comprehensive sanctions, and declared it will respond with "gangdaegang, seondaeseon," meaning "force for force, goodwill for goodwill."

The previous day, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken criticized North Korea's human rights issues during joint remarks at the South Korea-U.S. foreign ministers' meeting with Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong, stating, "North Korea's authoritarian regime continues to carry out systematic and widespread abuses against its own people."
