"Blood Clot Formation in Deaths After Vaccination, No Causal Link to Vaccination"… "Blood Clots Are Common Conditions"
On the 26th of last month, President Moon Jae-in visited the Mapo-gu Public Health Center in Seoul and observed Dr. Kim Yoon-tae, a rehabilitation facility worker (Purme Nexus Children's Rehabilitation Hospital), receiving the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Health authorities have confirmed that there is no causal link between vaccination and cases of thrombosis among deaths following AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccination. The authorities emphasized that thrombosis is "not a special disease but can commonly occur in daily life."
Kim Jung-gon, head of the Vaccination Damage Investigation Team and professor of pediatrics at Seoul Medical Center, stated at the Central Disease Control Headquarters briefing on the 17th that regarding cases of thrombosis among deaths after vaccination, "It is highly likely that the deaths were caused by factors other than vaccination."
On the same day, Jeong Eun-kyeong, Commissioner of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, attending the National Assembly Health and Welfare Committee meeting, responded to inquiries about cases of thrombosis after vaccination in Korea by saying, "There is one autopsy report among the death cases," and added, "It is under review."
The deceased was a woman in her 60s who was hospitalized in a nursing hospital and received the COVID-19 vaccine. Park Young-jun, head of the Adverse Reaction Investigation Support Team at the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Headquarters, explained, "A person in their 60s with underlying conditions was vaccinated on February 26 and died on March 6. The case was reported as respiratory failure, and the autopsy report mentioned the presence of thrombosis."
Kim stated about the case, "The individual had long-term underlying conditions," and added, "There were findings in the medical records that suggested other possible causes of death, so it was assessed that the death was more likely due to causes other than vaccination." Based on this, he concluded, "There is no causal relationship with the vaccine." He emphasized, "Besides the COVID-19 vaccine, there have been reports of thrombosis after other vaccines such as the influenza vaccine, but research results have shown no causal relationship between vaccination and thrombosis."
However, Kim noted, "The autopsy is still in progress," and said, "Once the results are notified by the National Forensic Service and the police, if there are any notable findings, we plan to re-evaluate based on those." A government official explained, "Causality assessment is conducted by comparatively evaluating whether the vaccination or other causes such as underlying diseases had a greater influence on the death," and added that the results have been derived after reviewing medical records, with further discussions planned once autopsy results are available.
At the briefing, health authorities emphasized that there have been no confirmed cases of causality between thrombosis and vaccination, and that thrombosis is a condition that can occur in daily life rather than a special disease.
Kim stated, "The incidence of thrombosis occurs in more than 100 people per 100,000, and the incidence increases with age, reaching up to 500 per 100,000," emphasizing, "It is not a condition that occurs only in very rare disease states but a phenomenon frequently encountered in daily life."

He explained that factors such as ▲increasing age ▲prolonged sitting ▲long periods of lying down ▲dehydration leading to increased blood viscosity ▲smoking ▲use of contraceptives ▲heart disease and arrhythmia also increase the risk of thrombosis, and reiterated, "Thrombosis is not a special disease caused by vaccines but a condition that can commonly occur in daily life."
