Gwangju City, BaroSotong Gwangju 3rd Anniversary Celebration Citizen Participation Event
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 17th that it will hold a citizen participation event until the 28th of next month to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the launch of the online democracy platform ‘BaroSotong Gwangju’.
Anyone with ideas for making Gwangju a better place to live can access BaroSotong Gwangju, present various opinions, and then participate in the event.
First, one top proposer of the ‘2021 Gwangju Citizens’ Assembly,’ who can suggest ideas for a better future for the Gwangju community or propose tasks to solve crises faced by the Gwangju community, will receive a Sangsaeng Card worth 2 million KRW. Two excellent proposers will receive Sangsaeng Cards worth 1 million KRW each, and seven proposers included in the top 10 proposals will receive Sangsaeng Cards worth 200,000 KRW each as incentives.
The winners will be decided by on-site citizen voting at the Citizens’ Assembly on May 21.
In addition, 200 citizens who propose or sympathize with ideas regarding Gwangju city policies, city bus route reorganization, or practical tasks for responding to the climate crisis will be randomly selected to receive gifticons. Winners can be confirmed through the BaroSotong Gwangju bulletin board in May.
