[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] The National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee has approved an increase of 245.9 billion KRW in the 4th supplementary budget bill for emergency disaster relief payments to provide employment support funds to health trainers at the same level as cultural and artistic workers.
On the 16th, the supplementary budget bill passed through the Culture Committee by bipartisan agreement included a plan to provide employment support funds to health trainers at the same level as cultural and artistic workers. The total size of the supplementary budget bill increased by 245.9 billion KRW compared to the government's original proposal of 157.2 billion KRW.

By detailed item, the budget under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism increased by about 148.2 billion KRW compared to the government's proposal (157.2 billion KRW). The National Sports Promotion Fund was increased by a total of 97.7 billion KRW. In particular, this supplementary budget bill included measures to raise support funds for the performance, travel, and event industries severely impacted by COVID-19. Considering the damage situation by industry, support funds were increased by ▲performance industry (about 4.1 billion KRW) ▲travel industry (about 54.6 billion KRW) ▲event industry (3.5 billion KRW). In the performing arts sector, funds for 'personnel support' were increased by 6.3 billion KRW and for 'creative preparation support' by 3.8 billion KRW respectively.
