View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is taking steps to improve the poor working conditions of local sewing companies.
The district is promoting the "2021 Clothing Manufacturing Company Work Environment Improvement Support Project" to create a safe working environment for sewing companies and help improve productivity.
The support target is clothing manufacturing companies located in Gwangjin-gu, classified as small businesses with fewer than 10 regular employees. However, priority will be given to workplaces where dust, illumination, noise standards are below average, or those located in basements or semi-basements with poor ventilation.
The support includes ▲essential safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and fire detectors ▲items for hazard removal and work environment improvement such as sound absorption and insulation facilities, suction devices, dust collectors, and ventilators ▲items to improve efficiency such as cutting tables and work chairs, with up to 9 million KRW per company.
The district will prioritize support for essential safety equipment directly related to worker safety, hazard elimination, and work environment improvement items, and companies must bear 10% of the total support amount.
Companies wishing to apply must prepare the required documents and submit them in person, by mail, email, or fax to the Gwangjin-gu Regional Economy Division by the 29th.
The selection results will be decided in June after on-site inspections and Seoul city reviews, and work environment improvement will be carried out for selected companies by the end of this year.
For more details, refer to the announcement on the district office website or contact the Regional Economy Division.
