ByteDance Semiconductor Business Entry?…Job Recruitment Announcement
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] ByteDance, the parent company of the video-sharing app TikTok, has announced recruitment for about 10 semiconductor-related personnel in Beijing, Shanghai, and other locations.
Bloomberg reported on the 16th that this news suggests ByteDance is considering expanding its business into the semiconductor field.
ByteDance is reportedly planning to hire hardware and software engineers. A ByteDance spokesperson explained, according to Bloomberg, that they are recruiting talent while exploring new plans in the semiconductor sector, including the production of server chips based on designs from semiconductor design company ARM.
Bloomberg explained that if ByteDance enters the semiconductor field, it would help in creating customized semiconductor chips for data processing and artificial intelligence (AI) recommendations.
