[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do will operate the 'Gyeongnam Sports Human Rights Violation Reporting Center' starting from the 17th to protect the human rights of sports personnel in Gyeongnam and prevent sports corruption.
The 'Gyeongnam Sports Human Rights Violation Reporting Center' will be established through the websites of Gyeongsangnam-do, the Gyeongnam Sports Council, and the Gyeongnam Disabled Sports Council.
Any resident of Gyeongsangnam-do can report various types of violence in the sports community to the center either anonymously or with their real name.
The province will form a dedicated team together with the Gyeongnam Sports Council and private investigators to jointly investigate the reported cases.
Depending on the investigation results, disciplinary actions against related parties will be requested, and serious cases will be reported to judicial authorities.
For victims, practical support measures such as psychological counseling and legal assistance will be promoted in cooperation with related organizations.
Additionally, starting in June, a survey on human rights violations will be conducted targeting all workplace sports teams' athletes within the province.
Experiences of human rights violations such as sexual harassment, sexual assault, verbal abuse, and ostracism between coaches and athletes and among athletes will be regularly investigated, and based on the results, customized improvement plans will be prepared.
Furthermore, the province will collaborate with the Gyeongnam Sports Council to conduct human rights enhancement education twice a year, in the first and second halves.
