Muan-gun, Strong Response to Rural Experience Program for Residents of Namak and Oryong New Towns
Providing Various Programs Including Traditional Jang Making Until October
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 15th that it will operate various rural experience events for residents of Namak and Oryong New Town until October.
From the 10th to the 11th, the county held a traditional jang-making experience event for 60 new town residents in two groups at the Local Food Hall and Sky Garden within Hoesan Baekryeonji in Illo-eup.
In this experience, instead of the traditional square meju, they used bean-grain meju developed by the Rural Development Administration's starter culture to make jang. This method, which applies new technology that is simple and prevents harmful bacteria, received great responses from participants.
Additionally, the jangdokdae sterilization conducted during the experience was performed using a traditional method to prevent contamination by placing rice straw in the jar and burning it to heat-sterilize at temperatures above 60℃, making it a new and fascinating experience.
The participants plan to age the gochujang and soy sauce made this time in jars for 40 days and then participate in the doenjang-making program on April 21 and 22.
