[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Delivery Hero Korea, which operates the delivery application Yogiyo, is expanding its research and development (R&D) organization to up to 1,000 employees to strengthen its technological competitiveness. The company plans to increase the annual salary raise rate for R&D personnel by 2 to 3 times compared to previous years, with raises up to 20 million KRW.
On the 15th, Delivery Hero Korea announced, "We are making a large-scale investment to secure key IT talent to lead the delivery app market together and expand the R&D organization to up to 1,000 employees."
The plan is to accelerate the expansion of the R&D organization, including hiring excellent developers, to differentiate services through strengthening technological competitiveness in the delivery app platform market.
First, the R&D organization will grow to a maximum of 1,000 employees within three years by securing outstanding IT talent. It will be newly expanded and reorganized into a systematic technology development organization to establish differentiated service technology competitiveness.
Additionally, a dedicated team will be formed to focus on developing AI delivery system technology applied to the next-generation delivery service "Yogiyo Express." This system will incorporate more sophisticated technology from order to delivery than currently available. Through this, the company plans to improve the ordering experience for both Yogiyo’s partner stores and customers.
Salary increases will also be implemented to expand recruitment of excellent developers. The average annual salary raise rate for the entire R&D center staff will be set 2 to 3 times higher than in previous years, with raises up to 20 million KRW. This is described as a "strategic investment to secure development talent." Delivery Hero Korea is continuously recruiting experienced developers.
Furthermore, to secure its technological competitiveness, the company plans to consider not only recruiting external experts but also acquiring small-scale development teams.
