Africa Surpasses 4 Million Cumulative COVID-19 Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Seong Giho] The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Africa has surpassed 4 million.
The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on the evening of the 12th (local time) that the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases on the continent reached 4,007,530.
The Africa CDC, a health agency of the 55 African Union (AU) member countries, added that the total number of deaths caused by the coronavirus pandemic is 100,728.
The Africa CDC mentioned that countries with a high number of infections include South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, and Ethiopia.

According to the Africa CDC, South Africa reported 51,110 deaths, the highest among African countries. The next highest reported casualties were Egypt with 11,169 deaths and Morocco with 8,712 deaths.
