Police: "There was no contact or communication with Mr. A"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] It has been confirmed that the police received information related to real estate speculation involving an LH employee who was found dead in Paju, Gyeonggi Province on the 13th.
According to the police, on the 11th, they received intelligence related to real estate speculation involving Mr. A, and the Special Investigation Unit for Real Estate Speculation Crimes of the Northern Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency was scheduled to verify the facts.
A police official stated, "No internal investigation had been initiated regarding Mr. A, and there was no contact or communication between the police and Mr. A before his death."
The police plan to confirm whether Mr. A was recently involved in any speculation-related suspicions.
Meanwhile, around 10:05 a.m. that day, a local resident discovered Mr. A (58), an employee of the LH Paju Business Headquarters, dead in a farm container (agricultural container) in Beopwon-eup, Paju, Gyeonggi Province, and reported it to the police.
It has been reported that no suicide note or similar documents were found from the deceased Mr. A. The police will investigate the cause and motive of death through on-site inspection and autopsy by the National Forensic Service.
This is the second case of an LH employee found dead following allegations of real estate speculation by LH employees, after the former regional head of LH was found dead in Bundang, Gyeonggi Province.
