WHO: "No Reason to Stop AstraZeneca Vaccine"
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that there is no reason to stop using the COVID-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca.
Margaret Harris, spokesperson, said at a virtual press briefing at the United Nations Geneva office on the 12th (local time), "So far, there have been no deaths related to vaccination," adding, "The AstraZeneca vaccine is an excellent vaccine like other vaccines currently in use. We should continue to use the AstraZeneca vaccine."
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also said, "WHO's global advisory committee on vaccine safety is systematically reviewing safety signals and is currently closely examining reports related to the AstraZeneca vaccine," adding, "As soon as WHO fully understands this incident, we will immediately communicate the investigation results and any changes to our current recommendations to the public."
