Chung Mong-koo, Honorary Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, Donates 5 Billion KRW to Seoul Asan Medical Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] Chung Mong-koo, Honorary Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, recently donated 5 billion KRW to Seoul Asan Medical Center.
Honorary Chairman Chung Mong-koo stated, "I hope to continue my father's will, who established the Asan Foundation and Seoul Asan Medical Center to break the vicious cycle of disease and poverty, and contribute to helping the underprivileged in our society."
He added, "I hope Seoul Asan Medical Center will develop beyond being the best in Korea to become a world-class hospital."
According to Honorary Chairman Chung's intention, the donation will be used to nurture outstanding medical talents at Seoul Asan Medical Center and to build systems for creating a safe hospital.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-koo Foundation donated 1 billion KRW to Seoul Asan Medical Center in 2013. The donation was used to support medical care for marginalized groups who have difficulty visiting hospitals and to cover medical expenses for patients in underdeveloped countries.
