Gwangjin-gu Provides 100,000 KRW Monthly Childcare Support for Families with Disabled Members
Monthly payment of 100,000 KRW for up to 83 months regardless of income or assets of the beneficiary household, until the month before the child turns 7 years old
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will implement the 'Disability Childcare Support Fund Project' starting in March to reduce the economic burden on families with disabled members and create a stable childcare environment.
The support targets female disabled persons raising children under the age of 7 or severely disabled male persons who have been registered residents of Gwangjin-gu for more than one year as of the application date.
The support fund will be paid monthly at 100,000 KRW for up to 83 months, regardless of household income or property, until the month before the child turns 7 years old.
In particular, this support fund is provided additionally, separately from the 'Child Allowance' given to all children under 7 years old and the 'Infant Care Services' support related to home care or use of daycare centers and kindergartens.
Applications can be made by visiting the local community service center with required documents such as a disability certificate, resident registration copy, and bankbook copy. For more details, contact the Gwangjin-gu Social Welfare and Disability Division.
Additionally, the district provides up to 1.5 million KRW in support funds in cases of childbirth, miscarriage, or stillbirth for disabled persons or their spouses, and operates various childcare support projects such as childcare services and language development voucher support for low-income disabled families.
