Gimhae, Jeju, Cheongju, and Daegu Airports Receive 'Airport Health Accreditation' from International Air Transport Association
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 11th that Gimhae, Jeju, Cheongju, and Daegu International Airports, operated by the corporation, have obtained the 'Airport Health Accreditation' certified by the Airports Council International (ACI).
The four international airports were evaluated for faithfully implementing the quarantine standards for airport users stipulated by ACI and the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and for providing a safe airport environment to all travelers.
The Airport Health Accreditation is a system introduced in July last year that certifies airport quarantine measures by evaluating 122 items across 10 areas of airport operations, including the protection of passengers and airport staff, airport facilities, and usage processes, amid the global COVID-19 crisis.
Son Chang-wan, President of Korea Airports Corporation, said, "Following Gimpo Airport's receipt of the Airport Health Accreditation last October, the acquisition of this certification by four regional international airports signifies that the K-Airport quarantine level has been internationally recognized." He added, "We will continue to maintain a clean airport so that airport users can use the airport with peace of mind."
