Kumho Petrochemical's Three Labor Unions Delegate Wage and Working Conditions Negotiations to Management Following Joint Statement Released the Previous Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Kumho Petrochemical announced on the 11th that its three labor unions have delegated matters related to wages and collective agreements to the management.
The three labor unions of Kumho Petrochemical, following their joint statement on the 10th criticizing the shareholder proposal by Executive Director Park Cheol-wan, additionally delegated the wage and collective bargaining negotiations to the management, expressing their support for the company.
Lee Chi-hoon, chairman of the Kumho Petrochemical Yeosu Plant labor union, said at the delegation ceremony, "Amid the difficult circumstances in the labor field due to COVID-19 and the expanding controversy over management rights, we have entrusted all negotiation rights to the company this year with a particularly sincere heart."
In response, Park Chan-gu, chairman of Kumho Petrochemical Group, said, "Kumho Petrochemical has maintained a labor-management agreement without disputes for 34 years until this year," and added, "We appreciate the union's efforts in creating labor-management harmony, coexistence, and trust in our company."
