LG Uplus Opens 'Upl Mom Salon' Homeschooling Educational Materials
Free Distribution of Homeschooling Worksheets
Offering Useful Activities Online and Offline
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] LG Uplus announced on the 11th that it has revamped its online community ‘Uplus Mom Salon’ to focus on free educational materials necessary for homeschooling and opened it to all customers in line with the untact era.
Uplus Mom Salon is an online community that opened last June targeting U+ Kids Country customers. Members freely communicate opinions not only about the U+ Kids Country service but also about overall child education, and LG Uplus has discovered excellent empathy cases and reflected them in service improvements. This year, six enthusiastic members from last year were selected as customer operators to lead the community together.
In this revamp, LG Uplus distributes printable worksheets for use in child education free of charge and shares homeschooling information for effective education. To lower the high entry barrier of homeschooling, all customers joining Uplus Mom Salon will have access to the materials. Previously, it was operated as a closed group for 230 U+ Kids Country users selected based on their usage history.
This revamp was made reflecting the opinions of Uplus Mom Salon members who showed increased interest in homeschooling due to COVID-19 but faced difficulties in home education guidance.
LG Uplus provides content and related materials linked to U+ Kids Country’s ‘English Kindergarten’ and ‘Book Reading TV.’ These are systematically produced together with U+ Kids Country’s partner brands such as Oxford Readers, Reading Gate, VOOKS, Carry, Pinkfong, Pororo, and Tayo. For example, worksheets linked to the ‘Watermelon Swimming Pool’ content of ‘Book Reading TV’ include ▲ drawing/coloring/cutting out watermelon ▲ tracing the letters of Watermelon Swimming Pool ▲ finding words related to ‘watermelon’ among listed words. It allows learning while playing with children for 30 minutes daily.
For prospective users who have not yet used U+ Kids Country, basic English and Korean educational materials are also provided. Four mom-experts, including Genie Teacher who has created English textbooks for 13 years at Chunjae Education Publishing, plan to upload worksheets weekly. The worksheets cover various topics from basic alphabets to word learning and English games.
Together with Picture Kindergarten, which recently received the Minister of Education Award, art activities such as origami that can be done at home are organized as non-face-to-face live lectures. Applicants are pre-registered, materials are guided, and real-time lectures are conducted with interactive communication. After the lecture, videos will be shared in the cafe so that children can easily follow at home.

Jung Hye-yoon, Executive Director of IMC at LG Uplus, said, “Although the need for homeschooling has increased in the untact era, there were inconveniences such as dissatisfaction and helplessness in mom-led education, so we carried out this revamp to resolve these issues,” adding, “We will continue to listen to kids moms’ inconveniences and prepare appropriate measures to secure loyal fans of kids moms in the future.”
