TIPA Selected as 'Most Respected Institution in Korea' in 2021
Korea Management Association Consulting Survey Highlights 'Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises' Role in the Public Sector
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) announced that it has been selected as an excellent institution in the SME promotion sector in the 2021 "Most Respected Institutions in Korea" survey conducted by Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC).
TIPA received consistently high evaluations across 12 detailed assessment categories, including innovation capability, management capability of executives, quality of customer service, and social contribution activities. In particular, it received the highest rating among the top four institutions in the category evaluating institutional trustworthiness.
As an agency supporting the innovative growth of small and medium ventures, TIPA has established systems that enable companies to receive package support in various forms such as certification, export, sales channels, investment, and financial linkage through R&D and smart factory dissemination and advancement funding and commercialization support in 2020.
Additionally, to strengthen support for overseas expansion of small and medium ventures, TIPA is building partnerships by developing joint programs with various countries and partner organizations, thereby reinforcing the foundation for domestic small and medium ventures with excellent technology and commercialization capabilities to grow into global unicorn companies.
A TIPA official stated, "Each policy supporting small and medium ventures by TIPA is continuously innovated so that it does not become a one-time effort but a sustainable policy that companies can actually feel on the ground," adding, "Efforts such as steadily promoting social contribution activities to support vulnerable groups in the region as a public institution are analyzed to have greatly contributed to being selected as one of the most respected institutions in Korea."

Meanwhile, KMAC annually evaluates six major values: innovation capability, shareholder value, employee value, customer value, social value, and image value, selecting institutions respected by all stakeholders as the "Most Respected Institutions." This year marks the 18th edition, and for objective evaluation, surveys and on-site interviews are conducted targeting executives of companies working in the relevant industry, securities analysts, and the general public.
