View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 10th that it will promote an education support project for children from low-income families to improve their academic achievement and provide equal educational opportunities.
The education support project includes an education support voucher program, which accumulates 100,000 KRW points per person annually, and a scholarship support program for university admission for children from low-income families.
The education support voucher program can be newly applied for from March 1 to March 31 through the guardian’s local eup/myeon office or online.
The support targets are elementary, middle, and high school students from households residing in Gyeongnam with a median income of 70% or less (income recognized amount of 3.41 million KRW or less for a family of four). Coupons will be issued sequentially as soon as the selection process is completed.
The issued coupons accumulate 100,000 KRW points per person annually and can be used for purchasing books or attending online lectures.
The scholarship support program for university admission for children from low-income families accepts applications until March 26. Applicants must be either recipients of the 2020 education support coupon or currently legally low-income, and have an average grade within level 3 in two subjects out of three (Korean, English, Math) in the 2021 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), or an average grade within level 3 in three subjects (Korean, English, Math, Social Studies/Science) in the first semester of the third year of high school.
