Boeing Revival Signal? ... Canceled Orders Surpass New Orders After About a Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing reported that last month, for the first time since November 2019, new orders exceeded cancellations, CNBC reported on the 9th (local time).
According to the report, Boeing received 82 new orders last month, significantly surpassing the 51 cancellations.
Last month's sales for Boeing included 25 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from United Airlines and 11 777X aircraft from Singapore Airlines.
Boeing delivered 22 aircraft last month, including 18 737 MAX planes, bringing its backlog to 4,041 units.

Previously, Boeing's 737 MAX model was grounded for over 20 months following two fatal crashes involving Indonesia's Lion Air in October 2018 and Ethiopian Airlines in March 2019, but recently resumed operations. Additionally, the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic caused a significant drop in flight demand, leading to difficulties.
