Krafton Invests 25.5 Billion KRW in Indian Esports Company
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Krafton has made a minority equity investment in Nodwin Gaming, a leading esports company in India.
According to Krafton on the 10th, this is the company's first direct investment in India, with an investment amount of 1.64 billion rupees (approximately 25.5 billion KRW).
Through this investment, Krafton plans to grow esports in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa regions.
Krafton will seek to support talent, build game infrastructure, and improve technology, as well as actively support the utilization of esports tournament intellectual property (IP) at both national and international levels.
Founded in 2014, Nodwin Gaming is a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies, an Indian mobile game company. Nodwin Gaming has introduced various esports events in India through partnerships with multiple global game companies, including Krafton.
Kim Chang-han, CEO of Krafton, said, "Through the partnership with Nodwin Gaming, we hope to develop the promising esports ecosystem and meet Indian users as soon as possible. Krafton will continue to seek investment opportunities to foster India's esports, video game, and entertainment technology industries starting with this partnership."
