Eugene Seop Jeongeup Mayor Begins 13 Days of 'Empathetic Dialogue with Citizens'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Yoo Jin-seop, mayor of Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk, started the ‘Empathy Dialogue with Citizens’ on the 8th to present a hopeful future vision for Jeongeup amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, which has disrupted public-private communication, and the economic downturn causing difficulties in the local community.
This empathy dialogue with citizens was organized to directly meet citizens from various sectors in eup, myeon, and dong districts, share the 2021 administrative direction and major policies together, and build a consensus.
Through this, the aim is to realize proactive and responsible administration, listen to the voices of citizens, and actively reflect them in the city administration for the development of Jeongeup.
Additionally, the plan is to enhance citizens’ understanding of the city administration by providing detailed information on the progress of key core projects and various policies.
In particular, suggestions collected during the empathy dialogue with citizens will be promptly addressed through progress report meetings and other means within the first half of the year.
Mayor Yoo Jin-seop launched the empathy dialogue with citizens under the slogan ‘Soaring 2021, Jeongeup’s Great Leap with Fragrant Economy,’ starting in earnest from Sanwoe-myeon and Sannae-myeon on the day.
Especially, Mayor Yoo took a taxi to the venue of the empathy dialogue with citizens, directly listening to the difficulties faced by the taxi industry and discussing ways to develop the taxi sector.
Emphasizing the spirit that answers lie in the field, Mayor Yoo plans to use public transportation such as taxis during the upcoming 13-day schedule and listen closely to the vivid voices from the field.
The empathy dialogue with citizens will continue in the following order: on the 9th in Buk-myeon and Jangmyeong-dong, on the 10th in Suseong-dong and Yeonji-dong, on the 11th in Chosan-dong and Sigidong, on the 12th in Nongso-dong and Sanggyo-dong, on the 15th in Naejang-sangdong and Ongdong-myeon, on the 16th in Chilbo-myeon, on the 24th in Gamgok-myeon, on the 25th in Ipam-myeon and Soseong-myeon, on the 26th in Gobu-myeon and Yeongwon-myeon, on the 29th in Deokcheon-myeon and Ipyeong-myeon, on the 30th in Taein-myeon and Jeongu-myeon, and on the 31st in Shintaein-eup.
Over the 13 days, the tour of eup, myeon, and dong districts will proceed in the order of district administrative reports, viewing of the city administration vision video, and empathy dialogue with citizens.
