Jangheung-gun Confirmed for Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project Contest
Two Villages Selected in Yongsan-myeon Unju and Busan-myeon Yongban, Securing a Total Project Budget of 4 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Jeong Jong-sun) announced on the 8th that two villages, Unju in Yongsan-myeon and Yongban in Busan-myeon, were finally selected in the 'Rural Vulnerable Area Living Conditions Improvement Project Contest' hosted by the National Balanced Development Committee on the 4th, securing a project budget of 4 billion KRW (2 billion KRW per location).
This achievement follows previous selections including Hoejin Seonhak-dong (1.5 billion KRW) in 2015, Jangpyeong Dubong (1.6 billion KRW) in 2016, Daedeok Sanwoe-dong (1.8 billion KRW) in 2017, and Gwansan Bueok (2.2 billion KRW) in 2019, marking the first time two villages were selected together.
To prepare for the contest, a resident council was formed and resident briefings were held to collect opinions and conduct thorough field surveys to promote the project.
From this year until 2024, detailed projects will be implemented in the two villages including ▲maintenance of infrastructure such as living, hygiene, and safety ▲demolition of vacant houses ▲improvement of slate roofs ▲housing maintenance ▲fence maintenance ▲village road maintenance ▲renovation of village halls ▲human care and strengthening of resident capabilities.
