[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, began COVID-19 vaccinations on the 26th of last month for 384 inpatients and workers at eight nursing hospitals and nursing facilities, who were the primary vaccination targets.
The county announced on the 4th that vaccinations have been progressing smoothly, with 357 people having completed their vaccinations so far, showing a 93% vaccination rate.
The nursing hospitals conducted vaccinations internally, while the nursing facilities were vaccinated either by a visiting vaccination team from the public health center or by visiting the health center themselves.
All eligible individuals completed their vaccinations except those who were unable to be vaccinated on the day due to poor health conditions.
The AstraZeneca vaccine administered this time requires two doses, with the second dose given 8 to 12 weeks after the first.
The second dose for high-risk medical institution workers and first responders to COVID-19, scheduled from the 7th, will be administered immediately upon vaccine arrival.
