Gyeonggi-do Supports Technology Startups in the 'High-Tech' Sector
Public Institutions in Gwanggyo Technovalley Operate Customized Specialized Programs
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province is recruiting prospective and early-stage entrepreneurs to participate in the '2021 Gyeonggi Technology Startup Support Program' until the 23rd.
According to the province on the 4th, this year's support targets are 25 technology-based startups within the province, either prospective or early-stage companies established within the last three years.
The recruitment fields include ▲Convergence Technology (autonomous driving systems, IoT, big data·deep learning, etc.) ▲Nanotechnology (smart sensors, electronic devices·optical device modules, etc.) ▲4th Industrial Revolution (VR·AR, cybersecurity, AI·big data·cloud, mobile, etc.) ▲Bio Industry (biopharmaceuticals, in vitro diagnostic medical devices, efficacy verification, etc.) ▲Others (technology startup fields outside the four categories).
The province plans to newly operate a 'Technology Support Specialized Program' that utilizes the professional technical capabilities of public institutions within Gwanggyo Technovalley to provide technology consulting, expert mentoring, and startup networking tailored to the characteristics of prospective and early-stage startups.
At the open startup space 'Startup Basecamp,' participants can receive programs such as management consulting, investment attraction training, IR business plan creation, online showcases, and networking with professional startup planners called 'accelerators.'
Additionally, the commercialization funds necessary for item development, intellectual property applications, and marketing activities have been increased from a maximum of 38 million KRW last year to 40 million KRW this year.

Park Sang-deok, head of the Startup Support Division of the province, said, "This project is characterized by being the first time this year to efficiently support high-tech startups through collaboration among public institutions within Gwanggyo Technovalley, recruiting by field and providing customized specialized programs."
