Damyang-gun Replaces Civil Defense Training with 'Cyber Education'
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang County, Jeonnam announced on the 4th that it will replace civil defense education with cyber education again this year following last year due to the prolonged spread of COVID-19.
Civil defense education and training are conducted to protect citizens' lives and property in the event of a civil defense situation. Civil defense members in their 1st to 4th year used to receive group education (4 hours), while those in their 5th year or above received cyber education or emergency assembly (1 hour).
This year's cyber education will be conducted for all civil defense members of Damyang County regardless of their years of service. The education period is divided into two sessions: the first half of the year (March 1 to May 31) and the second half of the year (September 1 to November 30), and members only need to take it once during either session.
