Prosecutors Conduct Search and Seizure at Office of Kim Yusang, CEO of Eastar Jet
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] It has been reported that the prosecution conducted a search and seizure of the office of Kim Yusang, CEO of Eastar Jet and former aide to independent lawmaker Lee Sangjik.
According to the legal community on the 2nd, the Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office recently searched Kim's office located within Gimpo Airport in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and secured evidence including computer records and related documents.
This case began after civic groups and the People Power Party filed complaints last August and September against lawmaker Lee and the management for embezzlement, breach of trust, and illegal transfer of company shares related to the mass layoffs at Eastar Jet. Kim is known to have been involved in Eastar Jet's court receivership and sale process.

Previously, the prosecution had arrested and indicted Lee's nephew, who was the head of Eastar Jet's finance team, on charges including embezzlement and breach of trust for selling 5.2 million shares of Eastar Holdings to a specific affiliate of the group for about 10 billion KRW, causing a loss of 43 billion KRW.
