Gu In-mo, Mayor of Geochang County, is conducting the 102nd Samiljeol Anniversary Ceremony.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 1st, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province held a commemorative ceremony at the Gimi Manse Independence Movement Memorial Tower located in Janggi-ri, Gajo-myeon, to mark the 102nd anniversary of the March 1st Movement.
Considering COVID-19, only 50 people attended the event, including Gu In-mo, the governor of Geochang-gun, Kim Jong-du, chairman of the county council, families of independence activists, and heads of organizations.
As a pre-ceremony event, the March 1st Spirit Succession and Development Committee held a Goyu-je (告由祭) at Chung-uisa, next to the Manse Memorial Tower, to commemorate the patriotic martyrs. The ceremony concluded with flower offerings, incense burning, reading of the Declaration of Independence, commemorative speeches, singing of the March 1st Movement song, and three cheers of Manse.

Governor Gu In-mo said, "The Geochang area has a brilliant history of anti-Japanese resistance, including active militia activities, the Manse Movement, the Paris Letter Movement, and the refusal to visit Shinto shrines during the Japanese colonial period," adding, "Although this is a difficult time due to COVID-19, I hope all residents will remember the spirit of the March 1st Movement and participate in various projects to overcome COVID-19."
