Jinju Gukmin Sports Center Indoor Swimming Pool Opens from the 24th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 1st that it will open indoor sports facilities, which were temporarily closed for three months from November 25 last year to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), from the 2nd at up to 50% of their capacity.
The city had gradually opened outdoor public sports facilities from 30% to 50% in two phases on the 1st and 22nd of last month. The public sports facilities to be opened from the 2nd include four locations: Munsan Indoor Gymnasium (Munsan-eup), Jinju Life Sports Center (Sangpyeong-dong), Jinju Indoor Gymnasium (Chojeon-dong), and Jinju Table Tennis Plaza (Sinan-dong).
Among indoor public sports facilities, the Jinju National Sports Center (indoor swimming pool), where close contact between users is highly likely, will resume normal operations from the 24th.

A city official said, "We have decided on a phased reopening for citizens who have had difficulties engaging in sports activities due to the closure of indoor public sports facilities," and emphasized, "Citizens using the facilities must strictly follow quarantine guidelines such as maintaining a proper distance of 2 meters between users and wearing masks at all times."
