Hanwha to Appoint Female Outside Director at March Shareholders' Meeting
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Hanwha Corporation, the parent company of Hanwha Group, will appoint a female outside director at its March shareholders' meeting.
Hanwha Corporation announced on the 26th that it will newly appoint Professor Park Sang-mi of the Department of International Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies as an outside director. Professor Park has served as the dean of the Graduate School of International and Area Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and as the chairperson of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Evaluation Body.

At the shareholders' meeting, Kim Seung-mo, who was promoted in last September's personnel reshuffle and is the head of Hanwha's Defense Division, and Kim Maeng-yoon, head of Hanwha's Global Division, will be newly appointed as inside directors. Kum Chun-soo, Vice Chairman and CEO of Hanwha, will be reappointed. Additionally, outside directors Nam Il-ho and Park Joon-sun will also be reappointed.
