[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) is actively investing a total of 660 million KRW in 40 elementary, middle, and high schools in the area to establish a future-oriented education system infrastructure.
To create a sustainable future city, the '2021 Smart Inclusive City Seongdong Promotion Plan' has been established, and comprehensive and systematic smart service projects, including resident-experience-based smart education projects, are being fully launched.
Last year, to create a non-face-to-face remote learning environment due to COVID-19, approval for changes in education expenses and contingency funds were used to actively support the establishment of basic infrastructure.
Subsequently, reflecting voices from the field that an environment capable of interactive classes and online educational content production is necessary, the plan actively responds to the rapidly changing educational environment in the post-COVID-19 era.
To this end, a demand survey was conducted for each school, and based on the results, since many opinions from elementary schools indicated the need to support student equipment for care classes, 10 million KRW will be provided to each of 20 elementary schools from March to purchase laptops, webcams, microphones, and other equipment.
For middle and high schools, 20 million KRW will be provided to each of 18 schools to establish smart studios equipped with professional equipment capable of interactive classes and online content production.
In cooperation with the Office of Education, 50 million KRW will be provided to each of two middle schools to build media rooms where future generation students can realize their ideas.
In addition, efforts will be made to lead the creation of smart educational environments, including the establishment of lifelong learning e-studios and the expansion of smart libraries.
